Ruffled Scarfs

I'm taking a little break from paper crafting..GASP!! I know but I'm having fun making these ruffled scarfs.
The first two I did on my knifty knitter(small pink oblong one) and they are GORGEOUS!!
I used the RED HEART BOUTIQUE SASHAY yarn - LOVE this yarn!!! the third one I used STARBELLA premier yarn...YUCK!!!! its too big of a weave and looked ugly so I took it off the knitter and did the "no crochet" and its still ugly. If you look closely the blue one doesn't ruffle very nicely yuck yuck yuck...I will not use that yarn anymore.(no crochet takes 1-2 days to make)
The first scarf is Sashay: SALSA (oranges, reds, purples)VERY PRETTY, the next one is Sashay: SHUFFLE (browns, beiges, white) GORGEOUS!!!
I'm making these as Christmas gifts...LOL..they don't take very long to make. I work on them a few hours a night and a scarf takes about 5 days....So my Christmas will be done EARLY this year...ROTFLOL!! I got the Sashay yarn at Wal-Mart.
Heres the tutorial- I did 6 pegs and every other hole on the yarn (ruffles look prettier). I followed her first tutorial (I did not pearl)

Yeah, I know...Mothers Day is coming up and I haven't started on anything----tomorrow...... I'm having a blast with these scarfs...I have to go to Wal-Mart and find some more colors....Bye

UPDATE - LOL- I forgot to tell you...on another video to make it easier to knit they started on the outside of the ball (not the center) which is much easier and opened up the yarn and wrapped it around a paper towel tube.....ROTFLOL!!! I didn't have an empty one so I wrapped it around the paper towel...LOL and yes, its much faster and easier to knit!!! it still gets twisted but its easier to untwist it.
Thats the Sashay BOOGIE (shades of purple..very pretty!!) This is my last skein...PANIC!!! need to get MORE!!

Crocus in bloom.....

Spring has sprung and I'm in the mood to make flowers......Aren't my crocus BEAUTIFUL!!!!
This is how I made them...clic on the link below:
http://scrapngrow.com/recent-posts/paperie-in-bloom-march-2013-build-a-bulb-garden-week-one/

Michelle from scrapngrow is SUPER FANTASTIC!!! I had a lot of questions...considering I live in the desert and have a black thumb LOL.....but as you can see she guided me along the way.....Check out her blog - her flowers are GORGEOUS! and her tutorials are nice too!!! You too can be on your way to a "Bloomn Garden"!!!
The only thing I changed was, I made my own leaves and flower pot. The leaves are 5/8" w x 8"L strips that I rounded the corners and scored down the middle then used a white gel pen then slightly curved the leaves and added two leaves per crocus. Oh and I cut the crocus stems to 6".
The flower pot was cut from the silhouette and I found the pattern in the silhouette store.

YOUR MAJESTY.......

My poor plushie was always slouched over no matter where I put him.....so sad.....
I LOVE MY CRICUT so much they must have a place of honor.....ROTFLOL!!!
I made about a 2.50" box and added a 3"x10" scallop rectangle to the back (cut 2 recs for more stability) and added a banner at the top and a heart on the box (done on the silhouette). King Cricut has a twine safety belt.....LOL he doesn't sit well and kept falling off his throne. HA HA HA!!!! I still need to make a crown and a shirt.
The vinyl cricut I did a long time ago.

Birthday card

My nieces birthday card. I used Teddy Bear Parade at 3", embossing folder Scroll Work, green twine for the skirt, stickles: red for the top, green at the waitline and crystals on the guitar, liquid pearls: white and gold on the lei. The sentiment on the inside was done on the Silhouette.

DIY - Paper Buttons and more buttons...

OK! We've all seen it on youtube "paper buttons" yeah yeah OK someday......
Well, I put on my creative thinking cap and came up with a NEW IMPROVED PAPER BUTTON!!!
If you have a Silhouette or Cricut cutting machine with DS, CCR or Gypsy you can do this!!!! For me I bought the button(s) patterns in the silhouette store.....easier for me to figure out the sizes.
I'm gonna tell you the sizes so you can make your own.
I did 5 sizes - .75 (3/4") - .685 (11/16") - .625 (5/8") - .56 (9/16") - .50 (1/2")

clic on pics to enlarge

4 shapes in each of those sizes- circle, scallop circle (flower), star and square

I made my cuts on the 8x11 sil mat so I cut 10 buttons of each size on recollections cardstock. you can use a bigger mat(more buttons)...my 12x12 mat needs cleaning and I was too lazy..LOL

I don't mean to brag about the Silhouette....but LOOK at those tiny holes on this smallest square their .055  Look how perfect it cut it!!! thats big enough for a sewing needle and thread to go through. ROTFLOL!!

still not impressed - look at these tiny holes on the smallest circle those are .045.....LOL perfect cut again!

I cut all the shapes/sizes in 11 basic colors and stored them by color/size in a 2x3 bags in an 8.5x11 drawer

What to do with them you say????
 here's a sample....

The possibilities are ENDLESS!!!! MIX AND MATCH SHAPES AND/OR COLORS!!
PRETTY COOL HUH!!!!!! you can also add glossy accents or stickles or liquid pearls or glitter.
Now, are ya excited???
FYI- when stacking your buttons the holes will NOT match up. Glue your layers down and repunch the holes from the top.

Heres the sizes of the shapes and (tiny holes) in inches

circles:  .50 (tiny holes .045) - .56 (tiny holes .050) -  .625 (tiny holes .055) -  .685 (tiny holes .060) -
 .75 (tiny holes .065)

squares:  .50 (tiny holes .055) - .56 (tiny holes .065) - .625 (tiny holes .070) - .685 (tiny holes .080)
.75 (tiny holes .085)

stars (by height):  .50 (tiny holes .040) - .56 (tiny holes .045) - .625 (tiny holes .050) -
.685 (tiny holes .055) - .75 (tiny holes .060)

scallop circles:  .50 (tiny holes .085) - .56 (tiny holes .095) - .625 (tiny holes .105) -
.685 (tiny holes .115) - .75 (tiny holes .125)

if you can't get the tiny holes to cut, you can use a paper piercer on the smaller pieces and a 1/16 hole punch on the bigger ones.

All the above is PRETTY NICE but I still had to play around some more.....
these designs can be found on the silhouette or the sil store.

these buttons were made with the "fill patterns"----if you have the Cricut Imagine you could do this too

the bottom row is from "fill gradient"

these were made with "sketch designs"

That's all my creativity for now....GO! Make BUTTONS!!!!Have FUN!!!
Paper buttons are lighter and thinner than real buttons. Easier to go thru the mail.
